If you are looking for a great alternative to traditional wood fencing and still I need the privacy aluminum or iron fence do not provide vinyl (PVC - Poly Vinyl Chloride) provides an excellent and cost-effective choice. This type of fence has recently become quite popular especially in Europe but like wood or metal PVC has both its advantages and disadvantages.
Why Vinyl?
Some clients do like the much lower need for maintenance on PVC as it requires no staining no powder coating or any yearly upkeep. Once the fence has been installed the most and Order needs to do is power wash it occasionally to keep it clean. At a distance, a PVC fence looks just as good as any traditional wood fence without the hassle in they do not splinter or crack making them an ideal child-friendly choice. Wit there being no need for staining and PVC being such a proven and resilient material this makes it very child friendly. No splinters to worry about or nesting insets like tics, ants or termites to worry about.
The Good and Bad
Vinyl fences have a higher cost of initial investment compared to their wood equal, however as mentioned before you have a lower maintenance cost year over a year. If neglected vinyl fences are more prone to algae, mildew or build-up but this can be stopped a garden hose in some soapy water with the occasional wash with. Some downsides to PVC are they become more brittle in colder temperatures making them a little more liable to damage. The only real enemy to Vinyl is sever cold which is something we do not get much of here in the Bluegrass. This is why Vinyls is not uses so much in the north and more prevalent is southern states and warmer climates.
If you do run into the occasional chip, break or crack we can take care of those issues relatively quickly with no problems.
